CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS OF THE

"PINE RIVER SPORTSMANS CLUB"

ARTICLE I - NAME

The name of this organization shall be "PINE RIVER SPORTSMAN'S CLUB".

ARTICLE II - PURPOSE

SECTION I - The purpose of this organization shall be to collectively conserve and urge wise use of our natural resources and to promote good and safe sportsmanship.

 

SECTION II - To promote, establish facilities for, develop and maintain activities for the mutual pleasure, and benefit, recreation, entertainment and good fellowship of it's members.

 

SECTION III - To instruct, aid and by all proper means and actions serve its members in promoting and maintaining educational programs pertaining to conservation, hunting, fishing and out-of-doors life in general.

 

SECTION IV - To promote safe handling and proper care of firearms.

ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP

SECTION I - Any citizen of the United States 17 years of age or over may become a member of this organization on application subject to approval of the membership.

 

SECTION II - The annual dues of each member of the Club shall be set at the annual meeting.  Persons joining after November 1st, in each year and paying one year's dues shall be deemed to have paid for the current and following fiscal year.

 

SECTION III - By nomination of the Board of Directors, and by a majority vote of active members present, and suitable person may be elected to Honorary Membership in the Club.  No fees or dues shall be required of such honorary members.

 

SECTION IV - Any member three months in arrears in dues shall be suspended and can be readmitted as a new member subject to approval of the Board of Directors.

IV - OFFICERS

SECTION I - The officers of this organization shall be President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Range Officers.  The officers shall be elected by a vote of the majority of the members present at the annual meeting and shall hold office for one year, or until their successors are elected and qualify.

 

SECTION II - The Board of Directors of this Club shall consist of the officers listed in Section I and at least eight other elected members.

 

SECTION III - In the event of a vacancy in the office of President, either by death, resignation, or removal, or for any other cause, the Vice President shall assume charge of the exercise and the duties of that office until the next annual meeting.  All other vacancies on the Executive Board shall be filled by a vote of a majority of the remaining members and said appointees to hold  office until the next annual meeting at wich time a successor or successors shall be elected in the usual manner.

ARTICLE V - MEETINGS

SECTION I - The annual meeting of the Club shall be the first general meeting in January of each year, at such time and place as the Board of Directors may designate.  Election of officers shall take place at this meeting.

 

SECTION II - Regular meeting.  The Board Meeting shall be held on the first Wednesday of each month or as such other time as shall be designated by the Board of Directors and due notice given to the membership. The General Membership meeting shall be held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

 

SECTION III - Nominations.  The nominations of officers shall be made at the meeting one month previous to the annual meeting.

ARTICLE VI - COMMITTEES

SECTION I - Within 30 days after taking office, the President shall appoint the following standing committees; Legislative, Entertainment, Publicity, Program, Educational, Membership, Fish and Game, and in addition shall name such committees as interests and activities of the Club may warrant.

ARTICLE VII - OBLIGATIONS

SECTION I - No elected officer or other representative of the club shall have the right to obligate the Club in any manner without approval of the Board of Directors.

ARTICLE VIII  - QUORUM

SECTION I - Ten members shall constitute a quorum at membership meetings.

ARTICLE IX - PROPERTY

SECTION I - The club may purchase, build, own or rent suitable real and personal property to further it's purposes, including offices, club houses, sanctuaries, archery, skeet, rifle and trap ranges, property for other activities pertaining to the outdoors or entertainment of it's membership.  All funds, assets, and property of the Club shall be used to further the objects and activities of the Club and for no other purpose.

ARTICLE X - RULES

SECTION I - All meetings of the CLub shall be conducted in accordance with Roberts Revised Rules of Order.

ARTICLE XI - SUSPENSION

SECTION I - The convection of any member of the Club of a violation of the game, fish or conservation laws; or under the influence of intoxicants at the club meetings or participation at a sporting event shall have the effect of immediately suspending such membership in this Club.  The Board of Directors shall have the power to reinstate a members so suspended.

ARTICLE XII - MATCH RULES

SECTION I - All rifle and revolver or pistol competitions held by the Club will be governed by the rules and regulation laid down by the National Rifle Association of America, approved by the National Board for the Promotion of Rifle Practice and the Secretary of the Army.

 

SECTION II - All archery competitions held by the Club will use the National Archery Association rules and regulations as a guide for their events.

 

SECTION III - All trap competitions held by the Club will use the Amateur Trap Association rules and regulations as a guide for their events.

ARTICLE XIII - AMENDMENTS

SECTION I - Amendments hereto may be made at the annual meeting, or at a meeting called for the purpose by a two-thirds vote of all members present, provided further that notice of the proposed amendment shall be given to all members by the Secretary.

ADMENDMENT I

All dues will go the operating, building and maintaining of said building & grounds.

AMENDMENT II

No beer, or any alcoholic beverages at any time, will be allowed on thee club grounds, or in the club building, with the only exception being District #8 Shoot.

 AMENDMENT III

The Jr. Club will be merged with the Sr. Club, to be known as the Jr. Division, ages 12 through 16, with the same dues carried.

AMENDMENT IV

Any member joining the Armed Forces of the United States of America, to include the Coast Guard, will be carried by the Club until they have been honorable discharged from the Armed Forces.  At that time, the member will begin paying dues at the first of the coming year.

AMENDMENT V

Only active members with one (1) full year of membership shall be appointed to the Board of Directors.  All Board of Directors must attend at least six (6) meeting a year and work one (1) event to remain on the Board of Directors.
